Bucharest to stage UEFA EURO 2020 finals draw
The draw for the finals of UEFA EURO 2020 will take place at ROMEXPO in Bucharest on Saturday 30 November.
UEFA has announced that the draw for the finals of UEFA EURO 2020 will take place at ROMEXPO in Bucharest on Saturday 30 November.
The news was announced at a ceremony at the National Arena in the Romanian capital – one of 12 venues for next summer's final tournament. A UEFA EURO 2000 winner with France, Christian Karembeu brought the Henri Delaunay Cup to the venue, and confirmed the draw news.
"I am delighted to announce that Bucharest will host the UEFA EURO 2020 final tournament draw on Saturday 30 November 2019," he said. "I am sure that the Romanian capital will stage a great draw, just as it will host four great matches in the final tournament proper in June 2020."
He told an audience, including newly announced local ambassadors Gabriela Szabo, Miodrag Belodedici and Dorinel Munteanu: "I wish you luck on and off the field in staging such a prestigious event, and welcoming the participating teams for the draw in November 2019, before the fans arrive here for four memorable matches in June 2020."
The European Qualifiers for UEFA EURO 2020 will kick off on 21 March, with the finals to commence on 12 June 2020. None of the 12 host nations will be guaranteed a place at the 24-team finals.
